USI-Tech scam warning issued in New Zealand

New Zealand’s Financial Markets Authority has issued an investment warning against USI-Tech.Better late than never?
As per the FMA’s August 16th warning;
USI-Tech is not registered on the Financial Service Providers Register to provide financial services in New Zealand.
We consider that the operations of the entity bear the hallmarks of a scam.
We therefore strongly recommend that you do not deal with the entity.
Following a securities fraud cease and desist issued in Texas last year, USI-Tech pulled the plug on their bitcoin package scheme.
Following the typical Ponzi collapse playbook, USI-Tech’s owners Joao Severino, Horst Jicha and Ralf Gold have gone underground.
How much they collectively stole…

LifeVantage class-action filed, pyramid scheme & snake oil allegations

BehindMLM reviewed LifeVantage back in 2015.Although retail was possible, we found LifeVantage’s overall business model was focused mostly on autoship affiliate recruitment.
This combination of token retail with affiliate recruitment is at the core of modern-day MLM pyramid schemes.
The FTC took action against Vemma and Herbalife a few years ago for use of the model, but for whatever reason we haven’t seen anything since.
LifeVantage meanwhile have had three years to clean up their act.
If a lawsuit filed earlier this year is to be believed however, nothing much has changed.
In a January 24th filed complaint, Brian Smith identifies himself as a LifeVantage affiliate who…

RamTrex Review: Crypto Ponzi collapsed? Fork blockchain and reboot.

Mass Cryp was a Ponzi scheme that launched in late 2017.Three co-founders headed up the scam; Pijush Sarkar (CEO), Saurabh Singh (CFO) and Shashank Mishra (COO).
The basic gist of Mass Cryp’s business model was *somethingsomething blockchain digital advertising free money*.
BehindMLM reviewed Mass Cryp in December 2017 and concluded it was a simple $100 in, $120 out Ponzi scheme.
Attached to this was a pointless MASS altcoin which, as predicted, crashed shortly after launch.
In June Mass Cryp announced it would be forking its MASS altcoin to create ADMC.
Being another pointless altcoin, ADMC saw desperate investors quickly drain Mass Cryp’s ROI reserves.
Visitors to the Mass…

AI Trade Review: Bot trading crypto Ponzi scheme

AI Trade provides no information on their website about who owns or runs the business.The AI Trade website domain (“aitrades.org”) was privately registered on May 9th, 2018.
Official AI Trade marketing videos feature Mark Davis;

On his personal website, Davis “promotes crypto” and cites himself as an Australian “author and speaker”.
To what extent Davis is involved in the operation of AI Trade is unclear.
Other AI Trade marketing videos suggest the company operates out of Kiev, Ukraine. That none of this is disclosed on the AI Trade website is telling.
As always, if an MLM company is not openly upfront about who is running or…

Was it the Ponzi cycler business model, ties to the Waszupp Global and Noble 8 Revolution cyclers, religious affinity marketing model, or prior arrest of Johnny William Cabe for fraud that saw Members Choice collapse?Who knows…

Richard Maike argues I2G recorded webinars = illegal wiretap

In an attempt to gut the DOJ’s criminal case against him, Richard Maike claims recordings of incriminating webinars are illegally obtained wiretaps.If that sounds ridiculous… it’s because it is.
Whilst I’m not a lawyer and can’t speak to specific legalities, Maike’s motion to suppress suggests the DOJ obtained Maike’s webinars via subpoena.
During the course of I2G’s operations, Mr. Maike engaged in conference calls with I2G distributors to update the I2G distributors on developments with the company.
Unbeknownst to Mr. Maike, these conference calls were recorded by the private provider and subsequently obtained by the United States.
The provider isn’t named in Maike’s motion, but…

Magellan International Alliances Review: BetChips now e-commerce

Magellan International Alliances operate in the cryptocurrency MLM niche.A corporate address in Ireland is provided on the Magellan International Alliances website, however further research reveals the address actually belongs to Company Formations International.
Company Formations International provide incorporation services in Ireland. Thus it appears Magellan International Alliances has no actual physical operations in the country.
In early August Jef Welch was appointed CEO of Magellan International Alliances.
According to his Facebook profile, Welch is based out of Georgia in the US. This is also presumably where Magellan International Alliances is being operated from.
On the Magellan International Alliances website Welch (right) states;
I have served in…
